Ball Python Morph Background Information and Primer |
Albino
ball pythons are color morphs that have a yellow and white appearance throughout
their body. Some people refer to them as white snakes with yellow areas and others
refer to them as yellow snakes with white areas. Unlike other ball pythons, Albino
ball pythons have red eyes. Their eye and skin color is a direct result of them
being amelanistic or lacking dark pigments produced by melanin. Since Albino ball
pythons are recessive-trait animals, they will produce 100% heterozygous hatchlings
when bred to a normal ball python. An Albino bred with another Albino will produce
an entire clutch of Albino ball pythons. Heterozygous Albinos when bred together
will produce some albino, het and normal ball pythons.
