In 1997, Dr. Steve Gorzula went to Ghana, Africa on behalf of CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna) to conduct a survey of the status and management of ball pythons. This survey is the reason why we can now keep and own ball pythons. You can read this historic report in PDF format here
