Well last night was feeding night. I started off with the ones that I keep in my apt. First was Charlie he's about 5month's old now and has only being eating mice. He won't touch a rat anymore anyways I've been feeding him two large mice. Well last night for some reason he would only eat one. So I placed him back in his tub and moved on.
Next was my corn snakes. They eat like champs and have never missed a meal.
As I was waiting I realized I had an extra mouse and no where to put him at the time, because my tanks were full with rats that I still had to go over and feed at the garage.
As many of you know I have an adult male that's about 4 years old that I purchased from Ron about 6 months ago. Well Gary has only ate one time in that six months. I recently moved Gary into the racks I had him in the big 4x2 tank for display and decided he would be better off in the rack. Well while sitting there wondering what to do with this one lonely mouse I figured i'd throw it in with Gary until I was done moving the rats around. Well I dropped it in and not even 5 seconds later that mouse was gone I was so happy to just see him eat something.. I waited about 10 minutes after eating and threw a rat in and he wouldn't eat it. So i'm thinking he is stuck on mice right now. Unfortunetly I didn't have anymore mice so i'll have to wait until next week to see if he's back on feeding now..... I hope...
I had him in this tank and I think it was just too big for him.

Now he's in the rack and appears to be much more comftorable and active. Plus he's eating again which is a good sign.....

Way to go! Hopefully he'll return to feeding on rats again. I've had rat feeders that refuse rats once they've tasted a mouse. He's a big boy so he's going to want more than one mouse per week. I have hatchlings that feed on adult mice every five or so days. Heck, I have one adult female pastel for instance that will only take mice. She eats at least 3-5 adult mice per feeding and she'll feed just about every day if I let her.

Thanks.
Yeah I wasn't even going to try and feed him last night. I have been trying about every two weeks. Last night was just one of those things I didn't have anywhere to put the mouse so I just threw him in there for a what I thought was going to be a few minutes. I had to move all the rats so I had some where to put the mouse, but I lucked out and he ate it.
I just wish I had more than one left. I know that one mouse wasn't enough, but at least he ate something. It's kind of nice because it makes me feel like i'm at least doing something right...lol It was funny watching him eat it I don't even think he had to dislocate his jaw, because he was just so much bigger than the mouse
I'll keep my fingers crossed until next week hopefully he has that attitude next Tuesday ....
