Hey My breeding pair finally have there first litter of babies, 9 right now and after a day they are all still there so that is a good sign and she is feeding them as well so I believe she is gonna do well as a mother and will give me some free food for TY woot.

Congrats!! I have never been able to successfully breed mice. I have done rats, gerbils and ASFs with no problems. But I failed (so far) with mice.
What are you keeping them in and what kind of substrate? Can you post a pic of their habitat?

keeping them in a crittertrail, and using pine shavings for substrate, though none in the top of the cage, that is just ripped up cardboard tube she is using around the babies.

Congrats.. all of them survived? How big is your bp, and what size will they be fed off?

yep so far they have all survived, they will be fed off when they get to be about adult size, and my BP is about 26 inches long.

update there is only 3 left now, think they got hungry last night since I heard squeaking and there dish was empty so I filled it up today and gave them fresh water and hoping the 3 live lol.

oh great, i have a female rat who is now pregnant... i hope she doesn't do that..
is the trick just making sure they have enough food? i make sure she has plenty but maybe i need to just fill half the cage with food once she pops.

The trick is that if they dont feel ready or comfortable with there cage they will do it.
