i tried to feed my ball python her first frozen rat today and she didnt eat it. at first she got very interested and was about to strike. but then she just stopped caring about the rat out of nowhere. i kept dangling it in front of her and nothing. im NOT trying the "exposing the brains" method either. so i guess i have to keep feeding live.

you could always try leaving the thawed rat in overnight. sometimes they will come out and hunt and since no ones watching they tend to eat. this may or may not work but worth a shot.
ive had some snakes who will eat when the thawed rat is left in overnight and some who wont.

you can try this, thaw the FT like normal afterwards get a hairdryer turn it hot and let it heat before you u use it on the FT, don't cook it tho just wave it back n forth on the FT for a few secs. its best to do this over the BP tank or whatever your BP is in so the feed won't lose heat. after you wave the hairdryer in front of the feed for a few secs lower the feed and it should go for it. i had trouble wit my bp till i did this, not because he wouldn't eat but cuz it would literally take him forever to eat. even if i leave overnight nothing so i just tried this method one day and it worked. jus make sure you don't cook it, i accidentally did once cuz the feed was wet and left the heat on to long and after my BP constrict it, he didn't eat it and there was a nasty mess.

You'll tend to get better results feeding off tongs/tweezers than just dangling it (warm prey helps, too)
