just wanted to start a thread that could make it easier for people feeding their bps. so far my trick is actually simple and i'm sure some might do this to some degree. ok so first i follow the thawing instructions for the frozen feed. after i use a heat gun to dry up the feed a bit, not to much cuz heatgun gets HOT and i don't wanna cook it. so after a FEW seconds not even 10 i open the tank lid. now titan (my bp) pops his head out but not really into it. so i take the heat gun again and this time i heat the mice over the tank waving the heat gun in front of the feed rather that direct so it won't get cooked. HE DARTS OUT FROM THIS HIDE! i lower the feed and WHAM! so far the number of success since i started this was 2 out of 2! hopefully it keeps up that way! hope this works for someone else. if anyone has a better way i would love to try it too haha.

blah i jinx it...well actually they DO go for it, but titan killed for fun....he apparently constricted the heck out of the feed, it POPPED and OOZING! imagine that and then he left. he did strike and try to eat so i have no clue wut happen, but the main point is that he struck. he ate last time i tried this.

Clue, you cooked it perhaps it wasn't firm enough this time for him to know what to do with it?

It smelled like his prey but it didn't feel like his prey and when it popped it smelled funny? Laughing

*If he constricted and tried to eat..he didn't kill for fun. Cool

i'm sure i didn't cooked it cuz it still felt soft like its suppose to and how a live would have felt but i know for sure i didn't cook it cuz there wouldn't have been that nasty mess.....EWWWW should hav taken a pic of it. looked like the belly button area where all the stuff just came oozing out.

That is cooked. Cooked makes it so soft that it can explode. Does any one else have a better definition of "cooked?"

I have done this a few times myself, when I have left them on the radiator too long to thaw...they get cooked.

*a live one doesn't expode out of its belly when constricted.

REALLY?! i would think the opposite. thats crazy. hmm maybe i heated it to much this time. its was probably cuz when i thawed the feed the water somehow got into the ziplock pouch it was in and that made me misjudge the heating cuz i had to dry it as well Razz Shocked Crying or Very sad i didn't even think about that. but REALLY thought that if it was cooked it would be like well..cooked like our food rather then soft. haha learned something

The Only Reason I Ask Is because I Could Get Frozen For just About .60 A Mouse.....on The Other Hand A Live Mouse Is 2.29.

both mine feed on F/T no problem, and what smell? I have never smelled anything. If they start of feeding F/T its pretty easy I just shake it around and they whack it. My ball still thinks its alive I think because I shake it while he is constricting, but my corn just like swallows it in about 5 seconds.

I get mine from Rodentpro.com and noticed that they can smell awful when thaw out for too long, but most of the time they don't smell.
As for my feeding tips, I just shake the mouse for a bit and they always go for it. There's two BPs that while constricting the f/t mouse I pull the mouse's tail a couple of times or the snakes will loose interest and wont eat
