|
I guess the momma bit a lil too hard when she was moving the pups around. We saw this one with a pretty bad looking infection. I opened it up and cleaned out the crap out of the infection and started putting neosporin on it. Because of the infection this lil guy is abit behind in growth compared to its siblings. Its still alive, and pretty small, its slowly turning into a fuzzy and gets doctored a cpl times aday. Kinda ironic I'm trying to keep it alive so I can feed it later to one of my snakes. Though the wife thinks she wants to keep as a hold back for a pet. Time will tell.

Yes, I come across those from time to time...luckily I have 2 hatchlings that are still feeding on that size..I just feed them off rather than prolong their suffering, because all the ratterlings are endangered every time I open the tub when they scamper about.

Poor little rat!
My dd wants a pair of rats as pet. She might be getting a couple.
Does anyone have them as pet? If so whats better 2 females or 2 males?
Im not planning on breeding them .

Keep females, the smell with them isn't nearly as bad with a cpl of males.

Bplover is right Pymama, those males stink up a place like no body's business. But if they are to be pets, the trick of vanilla water will help.
