Alright, so it was August 31st (10 days ago) when my ball finished his shed, and last night while I was holding him I could notice that his belly was starting to turn really pink again. Since the shed he's been fed twice, but they've been fairly larger meals than what he's normally had (he took them like a champ though).

Is it normal for him to be shedding this quickly?

I know he's only like 6 months old.

I don't think he's shedding again, but I'm not sure why his belly is turning pink. Maybe he's just a little bloated from having bigger meals close together. Maybe he's just getting a pink belly. Hmm...

Alright, my mistake, I believe it was the lighting, because I just checked and his belly is a normal white colour once again.

Sorry

The only thing that could possibly be too hot is the UTH, but I have a thick layer of newspaper as well as another layer of papertowels overtop of it.

Dont burn the house down!!!!!! Shocked I think it would be best to just go out and buy a cheap thermostat. Petco should have the cheap ones.

I'm assuming you didn't hear of the person who had their substrate catch on fire due to a UTH that wasn't hooked up to a thermostat, eh?

I felt it with the palm of my hand, it's not really hot, and it's outside of the glass as well so it's not in direct contact with the UTH.

Hi Radical! I see you trying to start trouble again. Surprised Very Happy Did you mention a Thermosat? Do you have one? I think you should be aware that what's hot to the Ball and what's hot to the Sapiens are two different temps. Smile

Ball's temps and humidity can't be guessed. While a bit of fluactions in the temps are allowable..it still has to be in the correct ranges. I hope yours are, or you will be back with a question about why is your ball dribbling mucus from the mouth or making noises when it breaths. Surprised

Snakes are like babies..they need certain temps, foods, humidity to thrive... now the ball's in your court (in more ways that one) Very Happy

I've got a baby, and I've got snakes.

The snakes are soooo much easier.

Oh, and get a thermometer so your not guessing at temps.

Wal-mart - $12 - Accu-Rite - Digital Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer/Hygrometer - hardware section.

They also have a dimmer switch on a cord that is a cheap alternative if you can't get a thermostat. Runs $9, and is by the light switches and thermostats in the hardware section.
