Curious, I am going to buy a temp gun, wanted some advise on whats best for the money

It really depends on what you want, and what you want to spend.
I use a Raytek MT4, and would buy another if needed.
I sold PE-2s for a while, and used one for a while (just to check them out) - nothing "wrong" with it, I just didn't like it as much.
I personally wouldn't have a temp gun with a D:S of less than 6:1. I experimented with the accuracy of measurements at various distances, and the places it matters most are the ones we measure the most often: the heated and surrounding areas. The PE-1 and other similar cheap guns have to be right on top of the target to get accurate readings due to their low D:S ratios (1:1, in many cases)
For my money, I want the laser, too.
