|
I have an extremely serious question to ask, so I hope no one is smiling.
I just cleaned up an enormous poop and noticed a clump of fur on the end of it... I've never inspected my BP's poop all that much, but is it normal for there to be a lot of fur in the poop or could this mean Scout had trouble digesting?

I've seen fur and - believe it or not - rodent claws in fecal. Without seeing the amount of fur you're describing, I'm unable to say if it's excessive or not.

From how many meals was this poop? What are you feeding?
Surmise: It may have been the poop from a few meals and fur is not one of the ingestible items on the prey.
Surmise: It may have been a (some) very furry prey.
However, since fur is not digestible it's nothing to worry about. If there's fur that means he's digesting food fine.

It was from one rather large rat, a bigger one than I usually give her, so that might be why more fur showed up.
I guess everything's okay!

I'd say everything is good. When you pull a peice apart, you can see it's pretty much held together by fur.
