I have a heating pad under my tank and when i move the mulch away and put my finger onto the bottom of the glass it is pretty hot hot enough were it hurts to leave my finger there. Should it be this hot? (fast response please don't want a fire =])

well you should measure it with a thermometer more then your finger, but if it is starting to hurt then it may be getting a little warm for the tank and should be controlled.

I'm assuming you don't have a t-stat?
Or a thermometer?

This is what we were talking about when we said how important it was to have a t-stat. A simple uth can spike in temps of up to 130degrees Farenheit.

It is extremely important that you either unplug that or get something quick to control it.

Please don't go by 'feel'! I hope you will get thermometers with probes in there ASAP!

What sort of temp control do you have? Does it have a probe?
