Hasn't happened to me (I mostly feed f/t) but I'm very positive you could. That's one of the first things that goes through my head when I feed live.

The ticks that live on mice/rats can't live on snakes..they are host specific. HOWEVER..this doesn't mean that a snake mite can't get a ride on one of the rats purchased from a pet store that has snakes.
