Most of the times I feed my BPs mice but whenever I get a chance I feed them rat pups (whenever the local pet store have the right size or when I go to swaps). They almost never declined food. My question: Is switching from mice to rats and back to mice stressful for my snakes, or do they even care?

so far mine just goes for anything that has a heat source and scent. he ate mice and rats with no problem. he sometimes even strikes the tongs if its warmer then the feed! but i don't think its stressful, just gives them a variety of meals Very Happy

Balls are interesting animals. I have some that will only take mice and will refuse anything else. Then there are some that feed on rats for a while, stop feeding but will start feeding when offered mice. Heck, I have some that won't touch a mouse, only rats. I still can't figure them out. Very Happy

Is it true that their fecal smells horrid after feeding on birds?
