As a general FYI, if you are using them in a rack with close clearance, make sure you grab the same model # all the time. I somehow ended up with a few of those, when I usually bought the 1856's (no mystery as to how it happened - I figured 28 qt was 28 qt, and I didn't check the model number). Luckily, I made my racks with a comfortable clearance, and the 1846's, though quite snug, still fit. |
Ok thanks for the tip. I have 4 different sizes of tubs 5.4qt, 16.4qt, 28qt, and one big 41qt for a female adult.

i use 27qt. sterilite. I've never seen the 28...
I have a question about the 27 I know's it's pretty much the same size as the 32, but do you guys use hide's with these? I have the 27 for my male that is about 1800 grams if I put a hide in there it's takes up all the floor space.
So does anyone use a hide for there adults?
I know I tried to search this and couldn't find anything I know it's been discussed before!

Well I know a lot of people consider the tub itself a hide so they do not put one in. Also many say their adults don't even need them. What I would do is put one it and check him a lot and if he is using the hide a lot then I would keep it in there if not I would take it out.

I see where your going with that, but my only issue with putting one in there is I only have room for one so it would be making him choose between security and temps. I think i'll try it without one and see how he does. Thanks

np...I don't really think you need two hides. Most people I know of use one hide and a water dish. I think adult ball pythons are comphortable with just one or none if they are already in a dark tub.
