I have some of those for my Corn (mice). Mine do not smell that I have noticed (and I have a very sharp nose). Perhaps you got a bad bag that had been accidentally thawed and allowed to refreeze?

LOL..That word "Gourment" is just a marketing ploy to sell frozen/thawed prey. They are simply different size frozen mice and rats that are no cleaner or fatter than any others that are sold in the pet stores at a higher price.

Not Too Sure Deb, When I Pick Them Up At The Pet shop They Are Like Rocks! But By The Time I Get Home They Are Almost Thawed Out Then I Just Warm Them Up (Fully Thawed Of Course) And Feed Them Off. My Eastern King Would Eat Them But My Balls Wont Even Get Neer Them.

I think they are "emptied" that is why they thaw so fast. There is no blood or liquid left in them, or very little. I get some for my Corn and I am not impressed with the word "Gourmet." But that could be because I breed my own and I am very aware how much time it should take to thaw them out if they are "normal."
*no longer breed mice, but I would pk and freeze what didn't get gravid.
