|
Well, the easy, problem-free time I've had with Scout seems to be over. For the first time, she's refusing to eat--yeah, it's breeding season, no big worry.
But she also hasn't pooped in several weeks, despite my giving her a few warm baths, and she's late with shedding too. Otherwise she's still bright-eyed, shiny, and curious as ever. The lack of poops is what worries me the most. Should I be looking at getting her to a vet yet?

The First Thing i Would Do Is Handle Your Ball Until Its Well Relaxed With You, Then Run Your Index Finger On The Belly Of Your Snake....Dont Push Hard But just enough To Feel Whats In There.
If you Feel Anything Hard towards The End Its Probably A "old Mouse" Thats Hanging out.
How long Has it Been?

She feels soft all the way along, no hard bits.
It's been 2 months since her last meal, 7 weeks since last poop, so last poop was just over a week after last rat. Do they digest that fast?

I don't know how much she weighed before.... This would be a good time to have a scale.
She's a year and a half.

Axl went on his first feeding strike during the month of April. (He's about 1 yr old.) It lasted thirty days and there was a lack of poopin' as well. I offered him a meal every five days for a couple weeks, then didn't attempt unless he was out cruising, but even then he refused. On the 30th day he ate.
As for poop, he dropped a monster one on April 11th, and then nothing for a while, until an average-sized one a few days ago on May 22.
I don't keep defecation records, although it's not a bad idea. I just remember April 11th because it was so huge I took a pic and looked at that for the date
Food strike - 30 days
Poop strike - 41 days
So my opinion is to just let it play out. As long as I've been on this forum you have been too, and I know you're a good keeper. She's just doing whatever she feels like.
