I had my first litters from my rats after 26days of having them (right on queue) From the 2, i got 19 babies, 1 died and 1 was fed to my dragon.

Here are the mothers

Something ive been noticing is that Ms.Jackson (the black and white one) is doing all the work, I have yet to see Shaniqua feed the babies. Is this normal for one rat to take over and feed all of them? Or maybe they are taking turns while im asleep? Also Ms.Jackson bit me when i reached in to get the food dish, it didn't hurt but it drew blood, mother rage!!!

Cute ratterlings! Very Happy I bet they'll taste delish! Cool

She nipped? Hopefully, she won't do it again. Personally, I put down all rats that show a tendency to nip..(after the raterlings are weaned), because if one gets away with it..they will all start....and my rats get toooo big to play that. Wink

They probably take turns when you aren't looking because having full teats can be painful. However, some rats just aren't maternal.
