I feel sorry for my brother's friend bearded dragon, but I received a phone call the other day about his friends one, he bought it without knowing what to feed the lizard and wants to know i know what to feed it, I told them Romaine lettace and other dark green veggies. Any other suggestions for them?

I have a bearded dragon and I feed him chopped up tomatoes, lettuce and pieces of carrots. I also feed him crickets a few times a week with some Dragon Dust sprinkled on for extra vitamins & calcium. You can also buy food that is already made for bearded dragons at the pet store. Theres 2 that I buy and my beardie loves them. One is in a pebble form and the other is in a soft gel form (I don't know the exact names off the top of my head but I will post the names later today). Hope this helped.

Diet depends on age.

If he has a baby they can eat 30-100 crickets a day plus a salad, Pellets are ok to supplement, but shouldnt be a mainstay of the diet.

If its a baby make sure its not on any loose substrate (including sand, walnut shells, ext).

Make sure he has a good UVB light, Under beardietales there is a list of good/bad, there are few good, and beardies die without good ones.

make sure he has a digital thermomiter with a probe, or tempgun and temps are 95-110 in the basking spot.

And to keep him hydrated by misting outside the cage, dropping water on its nose, ore regular soakings.

Anyway, thats some quick care facts. They are Alot of work, and really its sad to see it was just a quick buy. And expensive. Anyway, Give him those 2 links, and maybe some of my post. Hope it does ok
