Here is my 6-8 month old b.p. Camacho's tank. Its a 10 gallon with a UTH on the basking side as well as a 60 watt bulb above that. Let me know what you think.

The ball is close to 2 feet....I was just wondering if you were gonna upgrade the tank soon or you plan on staying with that for a while..

awesome setup, only thing i would change is the water bowl cuz my ball always seems to fall into the waterbowl when climbing and he would flip that bowl over haha

What are your temps? Are you measuring both sides of the tank?

no im not measuring both sides, but the temp on the side with the UTH and 60 watt bulb is consistantly 87-89. and the tanks temp is 75 at night

Agreed, I always go with those heavy stonewear bowls.

Green is right to be concerned. It's not suggested that we guess at the temps. BPs don't give a lot of room for errors in their environment. The suggested temps are not optional..they are more.."requirements" for optimal health of the BP and reduction of feeding/regugration issues.

What is the humidity, do you provide a humid hide? These suggestions will help you ensure that you do not later spend hundreds at the Vet for health issues with your snake.

btw: Beautiful set up..it needs only to be more functional..I think it can be both. Green has managed to incorporate both beauty and functionality as have most of our members. They will be happy to help you.

Good luck!

I love the background, must be a happy snake!

As far as the humid hide goes (for what i do) is use a big enough rubbermaid or ziploc tub for your snake to get in. Fill it with a moss, or cypress mulch, make sure its a lil damp. I put it on the warm side to increase the humidity even more. I only use it during shed.

Hope this helps.

Also, a lot of us keep the humid hide in the tank year round...changing moss as needed, so that the snake can decide when he/she wants more humidity on its own.

There are other materials used also other than the plastic container with a hole in it. Some of us (I used to) use a clay flowerpot turned over onto the saucer and the hole at the top made bigger for the snake.

Search the forum..there's quite a few humid hide suggestions I believe.
