While we are not vets, the combined amount of experience of our members and mods is sometimes enough to be able to pinpoint simple situations and suggest "fixes."

To help us assist you, it is best to include a complete description of your set-up. The most commonly asked question by BP owners involves eating. This situation can usually be rectified by a couple of husbandry adjustments, so it's helpful to the members that want to assist to answer the following questions in your post.

1. How long have you had your BP?
2. What size is the enclosure?
3. What kind of substrate are you using?
4. What are your cool side temperatures?
5. What are your hot side temperatures?
6. How is your humidity? Is the snake shedding regularly/any stuck on?
7. How are the temperatures measured: digital or stick on?
8. How many hides are in the enclosure? How big are they?
9. What prey have you offered: rats/mice/pk/ft?
10. How often do you offer prey?
11. How big is the prey?

It also helps to observe the snake and note any changes in behavior, breathing, or stools.

In the event that blood is present, or membranes are exposed it is probable that your bp needs urgent medical attention. A listing of Vets near you can be found at: www.herpvetconnection.com.

And include pics of your set-up if possible.

Deb, this thread is a great idea! It ought to be a sticky or it will sink below fresh threads, and new members won't see it.
