I just watched this on the news, beautiful snake, more pink or coral than the one shown in this link. Bit his owner when the guy was taking him out of the glass cage. The snake is in custody, illegal to own hots in our county. Hope it goes to a zoo.

Couldn't find the story as shown on the channel I watched online, which had more in-depth coverage.

Well that stinks! It's an ancient story, guess they deleted it from their site.

Shucks, I wanted a name and face on the person (for private reasons which I shall not mention, but will involve a bullseye and darts) Laughing

LOL.

He was just a kid. An idiot kid. I can't remember what penalty was levied against him, other than the the one the snake delivered for us. It happened here in Chesterfield County, Va., and it's against the law to possess hots here in Virginia.

Beautiful cobra, and it went to a zoo, though I can't recall which one.

Nick,

Virginia law, not federal. I used to have the link but I'm having trouble finding it now. This is why you don't see hots at shows or pet stores in Va. People have hots in Va., but they're not supposed to.

In Va., you also can't keep any species of snake which can be found in the wild here, with three exceptions:

(1) corn snakes
(2) king snakes
(3) hognose snakes

Anything else, you have to have a special permit subject to all kinds of regs.
