I built this, and Im not sure why its not pushing the humidity up. I used a 4 qt bottle I have filled up about 3/4s of the way up. I have the tube about a 1/4 inch from the top of the water, and every so often I see a drop of water get sucked in. It just doesnt seem to be working like it should be. The pump Im using came from and old 1 gallon fish tank I had, I guess its not putting enough air pressure in the bottle to get the water to humidify the air and push it to the tank, or I have a leak on the bottle. Im comfuzzled LOL. maybe I need a smaller bottle ? I dunno. Im posting pics to show how Ive got it setup. any help would be great. Thanks

It appears you already know what the problem is:

I finally got a bigger air pump. I now have it working like it should be. Its keeping the humidity in my 20 gallon tank at 73% on the cool side, now I just need to figure out how to make it work on the hot side, I do have an idea I will attempt to try later and see if it works.

Great, when you finish, post the improvements to the original blueprints so that we can avoid making the same mistakes!

I use a similar set up for maintaining the humidity on my crested geckos (@Deb perfect pet lizard, since it seems from older posts your looking for one!) I would recommend you get a sponge that will reach from the top to the bottom, it helps up the humidity by drawing the water up into the air, a larger air stone will help (difusing the same ammount of air into more bubbles). Also keep in mind that warmer air can hold more water than dryer air, which is why your cool side "seems" to be more humid than the warm side.
