Sad Well the thing that we all dread, the bad shed...............noticed when I checked on her today that it was in pieces with most of it still on her, so I was like damn I dont have time right now to do anything about it, maybe when I get home she will have taking it the rest of the way off.... lets say when I got home still same shape so I give her a bath to loosen up the skin so she can get it off of her self so I do a little cage cleaning and I find that the one digital therm is saying 99 deg. Shocked Shocked some how the thermastat probe was moved away from the UTH and low and behold the therm was also set up to 100 deg so I was like damn it who the *expletive* touched my *expletive* thermastat. So I reset it and allow it to cool down before puting her back in, so I now know that she was over heated and the skin stuck. Well when I went to take her out of the bath she slid most of it off in my hand like 95 percent of it is off her and no eye caps on her so we will see how it turns out in a few days when I feed her. to make sure it dont happen again I taped the probe to the uth.

Wow...At least you know where your problem was...And I was going to suggest taping the thermostat. (It's suggested on the site where I got my ball from to do just that) But sounds like she's got most of the shed off...And you've corrected the problem so it doesn't happen again. Wink

Well, I disinfected the entire cage and cleaned it to the best of my ability and gave her a rock to shed better and a higher hide so she can get away from heat better. >.> I just feel like a failure but I know that I will make it better for her. Oh well.

You are mentioning raising the hide to a higher elevation...Due to it being to hot. Have you tried a thermostat that controls the temperatures? This way you have control over how hot that area actually gets. So you won't have to move your snake out of that area. And hope it doesn't venture down to it?

Just something to think about...I know it was suggested to me. And it does make keeping the temps where they need to be a lot easier. And less stress off of me and my snake.

I do have a thermastat, its probe was moved away from the UTH so it raised temps I only put another hide in there elevated just in case it happens again no matter how little chance there is right now, since I taped the probe to the uth.

Well...then raising the hide...if it gives you peace of mind...then do it! I think it's a great alternative to the chances of the sensor coming untapped. Wink

You've got the perfect set up...It was a fluke... Wink No harm was done...She's fine...and that's the main thing... Smile

Do I get pictures...?... 24 Pretty please... 25
