It was so great! I fed him a night early since I'm going to be gone all day tomorrow. He's still pretty defensive when I attempted to grab him to put in a separate container, is it possible he could still be stressed (reason for striking)??? So I just left him alone and ended up dropping the mouse in it's tank. The mouse walked up face to face with Bud, point blank head shot, mouse was dead in 2 minutes! Hopefully the end of next week (the two week don't touch mark) I'll be able to handle him for the first time.

That is great that he took his first meal! Very Happy As for him being defensive, I'm going to guess he is just frightened. I know my girl freezes most of the time she sees my hand coming, but a soon as she realizes that I'm not going to harm her, she relaxes and starts to move around. Also, the fact that he did eat his first meal would suggest to me that he is more frightened than stressed. On the safe side, I think you should double check the temp/humidity and the other housing norms just to make sure there aren't any obvious stressors. (Note: I'll be the first to admit that I am not an expert my any means, but I just thought I would give my 2 cents. Hope it helps Laughing )

Just for general knowledge for those reading the forums:

Fear is a stress factor. Therefore a snake that is frightened is stressed.

Tommrow will make one week since I've got it in the mail. All the temps and humidity are good. He just gets spooked so easily and just gets ready for a strike.
