Good News!! Very Happy
Life is going to be ever so much easier now and watch her pack on pounds.

Magana..just a suggestion:
Go 4 weeks without feeding her, then put the appropriate sized rat in there (I would use a smaller than normal for the first feedings so as not to spook her) Smile (Also, letting the rat play in a bit of mouse bedding beforehand might facilitate matters)

Magana I have the same problem with my adult male, he is scared sh*tless of rats. I've wasted a bunch of them on him. I can only get em to take mice 2 at a time. I'll try the 4 week thing tho Deb... I want him strong like bull Mad

Make sure you also make the rat a weanling, or small..very small. This helps them develop confidence in dealing with a new prey...(that and mouse smell can help)

i had sort of the same problem, my bp seemed a bit scared at 1st but i chose to switch over after a shed and use a very small rat not too bigger than the largest mouse i fed her the previous time she was timid at 1st but it turned out pretty well now she is eating em like a champ.

P.S. and yeah deb she is packing on those pounds now i can see the difference.

well I was scared giving her a rat just like drop it in and let her go to town so I broke its neck or stunned it really good and held it in front of her and whack squeek the rat was done.

I see what you guys are saying, but even with three pet stores in the area, It's really hard for me to consistantly get young rats.

Yea I know the issue, but I was lucky and found a store the sells a variety of them, though 3.60 is a bit steep till I get the rat breeding thing going lol, though I dont think I will need to, but since Ty is eating rats she can go longer without being fed... Twisted Evil

Then you may want to make sure she takes whatever prey you give. I have snakes that take anything. This way you don't have to be stuck on any one prey.
