Well I don't know how many tubs you need in a rack.
I highly suggest www.jasons-jungle.com
Ron said he uses 32 quart tubs to breed so that's definitly big enough.
Jason's has a 5 slot 32 qt rack for 275, it comes with the heat tape already attached, just ask for a thermostat, to control the heat.
Mine was $350 shipped, now yours could be higher or lower depending on your shipping...

Ok well I don't if a UTH would melt the tub, I would say yes, but you should wait for someone else to confirm that.

Yea sorry I couldn't be of more help.
I could be wrong but I think people who build the racks use flex watt heat tape, do a search for that and see what you find.

If you use a UTH, it's a good idea to invest in a thermostat to control the heat output. They can get very hot if they're not regulated by a thermostat or a light dimmer.
Hope this helps.

You should be in good shape with a thermostat. I house adults in 32 qt cages so I'm not sure if 28 qt is a good choice or not. A 28 qt might be OK for a male but if it's a female and she gets really big, a 28 qt might be too tight for her.
Good luck and keep us posted!

You might not need any hides. My rack is built into my closet and so I don’t use hides. Also I use regular water dishes, deep enough for my snakes to soak. I also use aspen as my substrate. I have three inch flex watt controlled by a helix thermostat. Temp is about 79 on the coolest end, and about 98 on the hottest end. Humidity is at a constant 80%. Hope this helps

I have 4 tubs set up with UTHs, all of which run on corded dimmer switches. They are 3 - 32qt tubs and a slightly larger tub, maybe 44qt. I have 3/8" holes drilled about 1" from the top. I have never had a problem with heat or humidity, and the tubs aren't even in a rack! They're just on shelves. The UTHs aren't secured by anything but don't really move. I wanted to keep them unattached for future use elsewhere.
Cold or ambient temp end runs about 78/82 and the hot spot stays between 93 and 97.
Even in the tubs, I still provide two hides for my '06s, one hot and one cold. My yearling only has one, and she puts it where SHE wants it. I tried putting a branch in, but it was too crowded. You'll just have to handle your snake to give it exercise instead. Water dish is either 3" 2cup Pyrex clear glass dish, 4"small ceramic cat food dish, or an 8" ceramic planter base, depending on the snakes needs. I put the large dish in, partly over the UTH, when one of my snakes is going into shed. Skyrockets the humidity, and allows the snake to soak, if it wants to.
I stick a 3-way thermometer/hygrometer in every tub, with the unit off of the floor of the tub and on the cooler side. I have the probe run out a vent hole and around the outside of the tub and back in through a vent hole, down under the blank newspaper I line the bottom with, over the UTH.
Like Ron and others have stressed here, give up the extra cash for the better thermostat, it's well worth the money, time and effort in the long run. The corded dimmers I'm using now are ok in a pinch, and will do untill I order a rack, but they do take quite a bit more attention than a good thermostat.
For more info on this subject read the Wal-Mart snake supply post.
Hope this helps.
Luke
