But what's the point of this thread? Just to see what everyone here is using compared to what everyone on other forums are using?

Those on the forum that you posted are mostly breeders and not the simple pet owners. What they need to use is cost effective for the purpose and number of their animals.

Understood. But you might want to read those posts on the other forum more carefully. It states very clearly that the ones that you are talking about are used by breeders with 40+ (less or more) enclosures needing more exacting temps. Wink

These would not be cost effective for the pet owner with one or two snakes.

Am I reading this right?

You say you are switching to Alife thermostats for all of them, but have a link posted to another forum which is saying Alife and ESU thermostats are crap?

Am I reading that right, or a typo or what?

see you are probably reading that off the same site i am at www.ball-pythons.net fourm, but i have been here for a long time, longer then there and what i was try ing to do is see what is the most used thermostat.. the a life and esu is the same thermostat....

we have 3 esu, and 6 snakes and we have had no problemsyet knocking on wood it is like i said there they are all made and they can all fail....

$35.00

$320.00

we love the esu, and will stick with them for now, but will change them when we can....

I said I was already using them, thus if I say I will be switching, naturally it is understood that I would be switching away from using them per the new information that I found. Wink

See my first instinct was correct, I was simply reading it wrong lol.

Thats what happens when you make beer butt chicken on the grill, and have a bunch of excessive beer cans that need to be disposed, and post on forums at the same time!
