Here's a picture of the scales on Gizmo. Best I can do unless someone explains to me step by step how to do better. I am using a Canon Rebel Xti.
Those red dots are abrasions where her scales crumbled. She's currently isolated in the holding tank with a 1% Silver Sulf application.

Have you been soaking or applying anything to her lately? Looks like possible chemical burns or chemically induced dry areas.

I thought I might have accidentally gotten some bleach/pet deodorizer chemicals on her, and I wanted some more opinions. Since I hadn't come across this before and none of the other snakes have any damage to their scales.
She's in isolation in the holding tank with higher humidity to assist in the next shedding and 1% Silver Sulf. on the area.

Gizmo has shed, and her scales are back to normal (her shed was also whole). She had been placed in the isolation tank (which while humid, gives a greater degree of surface dryness and I wanted the area to dry out so it could heal) and treated with 1% Silver Sulfadiazine cream (I also have some Nolvasan antiseptic ointment on hand if the SSD hadn't worked).

Yes it is! (whew! ) I knew what the problem was and it was minor compared to some incidents. It was basically a matter of making sure that the open scrapes didn't get infected and that she was kept clean and dry (with HIGH humidity to help with the next shed)and quiet to keep her from becoming overly stressed.
I had also changed the substrate in her tub to Aspen to encourage more dryness..(the paper gets wet so quickly ).
I'll know that I am all the way out of the woods, when she resumes eating.
