Hello everybody this is my first post here so go easy on me Very Happy. I plan on buying a BP soon (from Ron) but first I want to get a tank set up for him. I got everything down execpt the heating part, well really just the cool side. Will I need to get two UTH's one for the cool side and one for the basking side and have them each set to the different temps or will the temp on the cool side just kinda fall into place with the hot side UTH set up properly. Thanks for any and all help in advance Smile

Ps. I got a good feeling that the answer will relate to the size of the tank and the way it's set up but I just want to make sure. Also this will be my first bp and I'm so excited.

Sorry that no one got back to you on this. Sometimes the marker that shows new posts in a section, doesn't light up to alert the reader to the fact that there are new posts in that section.

You are correct, it will depend on the size of the tank. I would go with one and keep the other handy (with the receipt to return it if it's not needed). As you tweak the temps..you will be able to determine if it's needed or not.
I would keep it till winter so you can make a better determination. Summer temps aren't really an indicator of how your tank would perform (maintain temps and humidity).

Good luck! Very Happy

I agree with Deb, but if you don't have the snake yet, you could just get one heat pad, see if that does the trick, then buy a second one if it isn't getting the job done.

The ambient temperature of the room also comes into play.
