So i'm getting ready to purchase another rack from Reptile Basics. It's the cb-70 rack which holds 4 or 5 of the 32qt tubs. They come standard with back heat but I read on there page that back heat is better for rooms above 74 degrees which generally mine hangs around 75. I was just wondering about if the back heat is going to be enough to heat the front as well or if I should go with the belly heat. I have heard of a lot of people on here who use back heat and love it but I don't have a herp room mine are in my living room Smile. So just wondering what everyone uses and how it works for them....

Good question, I was wondering about that too. I think I read somewhere (maybe even here) back heat is good enough for young to adult BPs but hatchlings do required belly heat. Many rack systems manufacturers are using back heat lately because is way much easier too install.

It works wonderful for me. When the snakes need more heat, they back up against the back (placing their belly on the back portion of the tub).

Ryan, it may be easier to install, but if one has a breeder, one doesn't have to worry about cooking the eggs accidentally, or the snake (in a rack).

Belly heat is best for tanks because the back heat doesn't disperse in an efficient manner, but back heat (ON TUBS) is very very good.
