I thought I remebered reading on a previous post about how balls do not like to eat while mating/breeding but can't find the posts and don't quite recall, is this true?

Some will feed, some will not. I've had females feed up to a week before ovulating. They don't feed when they've ovulated and/or are gravid.

I've begun to think that snakes, for all their similarity and instincts, are as individual as humans.
Before you all stone me...consider that I have noticed:
Females during breeding season
Humans: some develop cravings, some do not
Snakes: some will eat up to and beyond gravidity and some will not
Humans: Some get "moody;" some do not.
Snakes: Some get moody, some do not.
And it's like that with all of the animal kingdom it appears. Rarely does any animal follow exactly the dictates of its nature.

That's right!! Vicky or Arwen fooled me! She wasn't gravid when I thought she was. (remember the one coiled as if on eggs?)
Then a lot of mine must be gravid because they have stopped eating..but I am gonna trick them, I am gonna put a AFS in there and see if they eat . If they don't eat that..it's definite!
(it might be all the renovations going on in the house right now).
