Hi everyone, I recently acquired a display case from a grocery store (king soopers, owned by kroger) for free. This think is roughly the size of three 75 gallon aquariums stacked vertical. The ? I have is this. I have heard that mdf or particle board can give bps problems with their respiratory tract, due to the glue used. Im just wondering what you guys have heard about this, because this would make an awesome habitat, but the bottom third is particle board, and to make all areas of it accessible, I would have to put at least two holes in it, exposing the mdf or particle board, not sure which. The rest of it has some sort of laminate, that I know is fda food grade, so its not a problem, its just where I would have to put the holes.

I would think that if you seal the edges with silicon rubber then you should have no problems.

It is true that all glues are not created equal when it comes to the snake's environment. But I am understanding from reading this that it's ALREADY glued? If so, are you planning to remove that glue and follow kasandrich's suggestion?
