Hey guys! I have been feeding my ball, Miloh, one mouse every week since I got him. I was at the petstore getting some the other day and I meet another girl there who said she had a five year old ball. I told her about mine and she said if he is this big already he should be eating two mice not one.
So I was wondering, should I up the food for him now? I never trust these stupid people at the petstores, they don't know [censored word]! They told my cousin when they got a Chinese Water dragon he didn't need anything bigger than like a tiny dish of water in his cage and he died! So you can see why I am afraid, I don't want to start early on an over weight snake.
Here are pictures of him for size....

Are you sure? They are quite big at the petstore where they sell them, I don't think they have younger rats and those I know are huge? So just with like mice what would you think...he doesn't eat frozen, he refuses I tell you!
He smells them then like jerks his head back as if it smells bad and tries to just get out of the feeding tank, even if i move it around with tongs and all that to try and make it SEEM alive....

Yeah definitely a small or medium rat. You'd be surprised what they can eat lol. I bp that big and old can take a pretty good sized rat. Something that big would have to eat 4 to 5 mice to be sufficent. If you do a search on the internet of rat sizes you'll get an idea of the different sizes. Some peoples idea of small and medium is different compared to the next person. It's that way with pet stores as well. The place I buy rats has huge rats labeled as small rats. I mean these things are huge. Granted my adult could eat one, but he won't (stuck on mice). So get an idea of the sizes. Like I said though they can take down some pretty big meals. He's pretty big so up the size some.

Yeah, looks like a small would be appropriate, or at least the small rats I get

My bp is a little smaller than that and I feed her a small rat once a week. She is very capable of taking them out also. So far she has not gotten bite yet. (KNOCK ON WOOD!) Just be sure to be there with the tongs to prevent the small rat from getting lucky.
