I have a new BP that I got on 6/12. He is about 20in long give or take an inch or so. On the night of the 19th I offered him a f/t pinky. He wasn't interested. At this point I also noticed that I think pinkys are too small for him (good amount smaller than his largest girth) so I got a fuzzy. Tried to feed the f/t fuzzy to him 3 nights ago. He was flicking his tounge at it but didn't try to eat at all. Should I be worried? What is the next step? Wait it out a little more or what?
His tank is 30.5 long x12.5 widex19 high (inches). He has 2 hides, a water dish (big enough to soak in), a hot side with 90F and an ambient of 80F. The humidity ranges from 60-70%. Also, I handle him every night for about 15-20min and he is very alert, curious, and friendly.
Any help is much appreciated.

Was it on frozen/thawed before you got him/her?
Maybe needs a few live rat crawler/fuzzy to get him/her started off well in the new home, before trying to switching over?

Do you feed him on its tank or separate container? Try not to handle him that often. I only handle me BPs twice a week now (as often as you do when I had only one) and their appetite has gotten better. I recently switched five out of six of them to f/t rats with almost no problems (they ate mice most of the time, three of them preferred live)
If you do feed in a separate container put his favorite hide in there as well, see if that works. Good Luck! Smile

So far I've tried both in his tank and in a separate container.
Don't handle him everyday? I was told it was good for him (esp at his young age) to get him accustomed to it. Hmm. I will try a rat this time then. Thanks!!!!!

First you want to get him to eat for you, after he gets settle and starts eating regularly then you can work on the handling part.
