yeah that is cool, you'd think by now there would be more fuel alternatives... also there were cars created in the 60's that could get 50-60 mpg someone is holding us back... no reason why today why we cant support more fuel efficient cars..

Politics is what is holding us back, and being to afraid of the major oil companies to look into these other fuels..........

I wrote this today so I thought I'd put it up. It's part of an idea I had to start a new blog (I've been blogging for years) called "Stuff outta my Head" which is just random stream-of-consciousness stuff. I was so drunk when I wrote this yesterday morning I even forgot to bullet point it. ~Jonathan

Whats that have to do with the price of milk in the Middle East?

By Jonathan Colburn

On the morning news today, the news anchor was talking about how, in 1987, Madonna "ruled" and gas was only .89 cents a gallon. I don't know if there is any correlation between Madonna's reign and cheap gas, but I'm going to say it was probably just a coincidence. I'll bet that gas was even cheaper than that before, say, the creation of the combustible engine (and for the record, I would still rather pay $4 a gallon than be assaulted by that ugly, talentless whore again).

There's also much talk about a potential gas tax holiday this summer to give Joe Lunchbucket and family some much needed relief. The problem is that it only adds up to an average summer savings of about $30 per family. Which would probably be enough savings to buy about 5 extra gallons when the oil companies decide to increase the cost to offset the difference.

The media makes the gas situation look like Armageddon with oil up to the bridle bits of the horses. The constant reports of gas theft, either by siphoning or drive offs, are enough to get any God fearing American wondering what's next. To those selfish, near sighted fear mongers I would ask them to think about the increased employment rates in factories that manufacture locking gas caps. Those workers need those jobs. Jobs are more crucial now than ever before, especially if you buy gas.

I often find myself wishing that cars ran on human blood. That would get interesting real fast.

Sometimes I find myself looking at beat-up cars and thinking that if they had a full tank of gas, they would definitely be worth stealing.

Wouldn't it be neat if we could pay for our doctor's appointments with gas? Like in "Little House on the Prairie" when everyone always paid Doc Baker with livestock or a basket of eggs?

If you want to have a "real" exchange with someone (and not an excruciatingly banal exchange you sometimes find yourself in), then casually say something like, "Man, these gas prices are something else, huh?" Depending on who you are and what their response is, that question can lead into a meaningful exchange on the government, then politics, then dependence on foreign oil, then the middle east, then religion, and then a fistfight.

To the "boycott" gas crowd that send these ridiculous forwarded emails about how everyone should stay away from the pumps for a day, please grow up. Even if this were possible, they would only drop the price of gas long enough to recoup the losses and then immediately jam it back in you for a good punish f#%k.

Well, that's what I would do if I controlled the oil.

Oil is a drug. People need their drug. The oil companies are the smugglers, the gas stations are the dealers. And you're just a junkie with only two options; buy it, or don't buy it. And the latter isn't much of an option. So pawn your stereo and keep your hole shut because dealers don't care about your problems (in my experience, anyway).

Dairy farms have also been closing down because the costs of corn and ethanol have gone up. Fewer dairy farms mean less milk; less milk that's already more expensive to produce means it's going to cost more.

In a local Hillary Clinton television ad, a "working" man says that it's hard to choose between a gallon of milk and a gallon of gas.

And I thought how problematic this could be for a lot of Americans.

Especially if faced with this quandary while staring into a bowl of dry Corn Flakes.

I feel your pain, America…..

I feel your pain…..

All Diesel Motors Could Run On Vegetable Oil, Espesically The Ones With The Higher Compression Ratio.

I know "several" people that have converted some old Mercedes diesels to run on cooking oil for minimal start up cost. They get the oil from various local restaurants that are just going to pitch it anyway, so they grab it, take it home, filter it and they're getting 100+ miles per gallon.

And with no loss of power.

But these people aren't your "average" Americans desperate to live "the dream" either.

Well There Could Be A Power Loss If The Oil Isnt Heated To The Correct Temp. I Would Also See The Fule To Air Ratio Being Off A Bit.

Oh And Another Thing Just Like Diesel, Bacteria Would Be A Issue.

Those are issues, but not with these Cats.

We were doing a piece for the local Newspaper and one of these guys was "flying" me up hills doing 80mph, just to prove his point.

But I sill like Muscle Cars and raw gas, so I pay it.

Nothing like a prehistoric Dodge Challenger ripping down the road spewing high octane racing fuel that looks like blood right out of the frigging tail pipes.

You don't get that with hybrids or modified cars running on alternative fuels....

Not Saying You Cant Go Fast With Bio Fule Just Saying In Order To Run On Bio Fule And Only Bio Fule The Whole Fule Delivery System has To Be Changed And Higher Compression Ratios Are Required To Achieve The Necessary Heat To Ignite The Fule(unless Turbocharged Or SuperCharged). All This And A Lot More Have To Be Done To Reach Maximum Efficiency On Power And MPG.

Well E85 Has A 105 octane Rating So I Cant Say Thats Nessasaraly true.

Look Up The E85 Viper @ www.E85viper.com Over 1000WHP Was Made Using E85.
