I am looking into purchasing a rack system because well, I do not have the room for another tank once I get those two seperated and do not want to have to move my furniture around more than I have to fit a 100 gallon tank in the living room, so what size tub do you think would be sufficient for my 5ft female? I don;t want he cramped, and also for those whom breed their bps, just out of curiosity what do you put them in for breeding? Like a tank, or a bigger tubbed rack, or do you just slip the male in with the female at her normal sized tub? Just was curious about how that worked out really and I have not read anywhere what people actually place their breeding pairs in.

Hi Feral, Welcome to the club! Most breeders and pet owners that use racks go with the standard The rack that is 17" W x 24" D x 36" H. The unit holds 5 Sterilite boxes that are 32-quart tubs and measure 16.5" W x 23.5" D x 6" H.(I think that's what I have..someone correct me if I am wrong.)
I do have one Boaphile Breeder that is HUGE, but I actually haven't noticed a difference in whether the female becomes gravid from having more room sooooo, I usually use their 32 quart tubs and just slip the female in with the male or vice versa depending on who's tank needs a cleaning when pairing day comes.
I use the breeder to hold my big males that get pissy if they feel like they want more room (they show it by tipping over water allllll the time; but when I put them in the breeder they stop).
Personally, I am not too crazy about using the breeding racks for breeding because they use belly heat and with two flexiwatt strips it's a bit difficult to get the temps correct so there is always a possibility that if the female actually lays eggs in there, they can be cooked. For breeding purposes, I prefer the back heated ones.

Wow I missed this, I am talking with a guy whom makes custom pieces right now, we have a meeting to go down to his shop and start working in earnest next week, but do you really think a 32qt will be sufficient for a 5ft bp? I just feel bad for her cause I bought one to place her in it and compared to it she seems monsterous.
