Okay so my ball python that I recently rescued (in the past 10 days) just shed today. I picked her up so I could take the shed out to see if the eye caps came off and they did but I noticed that around her cloaca there is some blood and the very tip of her tail which had been burt came off as well and there is a bit of blood there too. Is there anything I can do?? Is she hurt?

Pics!!

While waiting for the pics...a nice soak in Chlorhexidine/water (follow directions) wouldn't hurt; might help.

Some suggest Hydrogen peroxide/solution/water (but I have no experience with this).

I took her to the vet later that day and she's fine. He checked her out then sexed her for sure for me and yep, she is a female. He gave me an ointment/cream for her tail tip, he said to put it on every other day and that another little bit may come off her next shed but do not worry and put some more of the cream on it. So my Pandora has been given a clean bill of health and proven for sure to be a female.

Around a year from what I was told when I got her from her previous owner, the guy he got him through said she was a male from a late '07 clutch...so really I am not too sure. But she is about 2ft and 4 inches long
