yea I would like to get a mojave so I could produce a lecuistic over time but a mojave is a little much for me to spend on my first breeding project I think.
Looks like I'm going to be getting a pastel, you'll be getting an email in a couple days Ron haha.

If you have everything and can afford it, why not? I am getting my expensive snakes now, and by time I am ready they will be big, they are on their way now...!!  It's like playing the stock market...nothing ventured, nothing gained...there is risk in everything including crossing the street.

Yes I can afford it but breeding seems kinda difficult and very possible to mess something up, so I hate it to say it like this but I would rather have a mess up with a less expensive snake. If I could I would just buy em all! :wink:
Once i get my bearings in the breeding world, I'll be venturing haha, I still have years ahead of me...

Good perspective! I am an all or nothing girl! lol I have my snakes now, because I like them, I am principally a collector. I am starting out with the normals and one morph...and by time I have got a bit more experience under my belt, my "expensive" morphs will be breeding size.

People who do business with me get phone/email and of course, forum support throughout the entire breeding season. I won't let you fail so have no worries.

Ahhhhh that mojave is looking might nice then heheh, I've got some planning to do, good thing I'll be away this weekend, I'll get a chance to think about it.

If you care for your animals, and it seems you do because you have found your way here, and if you have time and effort to spend, remember, the snakes do the important stuff. You just make them as comfortable and happy as possible. Like being the 'Heidi Flice' of Ball Pythons! chuckles... There is risk in everything, and time is a cunning thief. Learn what you can, and remember, a male may well be ready to breed after one year, but females should be bigger and healthier, like third winter, so that gives you a year if you start with hatchlings, to figure out what Co-Dom really trips your trigger and time to save up a little extra $ so cash is even less an issue. Start with at least 4-6 normal females to a male Co-Dom. Males are a bit cheaper but it takes at least an extra generation to get to leucistics and supers if you breed to normals and get some Co-Dom females. Then backbreed daughters to daddy and hope for supers, especially females. Breed super females to what ever, even normals, and get something special! This route, your talking, at least two generations equaling 4 or 5 years.
Humble beginnings for a grand scheme...
Besides, with info and help from here, how could you go wrong!
P.S. Have you read Ron's article on investing in Ball Pythons?
It convinced me, and helped me to convince my wife, that today was the day to get started. Why breed normals when the same effort and a little extra investment brings a rain of profit in a single generation.

yes i read Ron's article thats why I have a 5 slot adult rack coming next week so I can purchase and breed balls hahah, damn his website and articles and how great all this stuff is :wink:

I had wondered where you heard about us. Deborah is a great customer, she definitley has 'the bug' like we all do. I'll have to tell her thank you. Actually, I just shipped another rack out to her a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything from her, I hope it's all fine.

Hey Deb.....im back again....k so i bought the digital thermo, placed the probe at one end, and the unit is mesuring the cool side, my humidity is sitting at 70% which is good but she still feels chilly when I get her out? I also bought a thermostate and I have my UTH hooked up and running 24/7, but whenever I turn my lamp off, the temp on the cool side is like 70F which from what we where talking about earlier is VERY bad for her over a period of time. So what do I do now? keep my red heat lamp on all the time? move her rock closer to the middle? I thought about buing a second heat pad and turning it down low on the thermo and keeping her cool side at 80? I dunno im out of ideas, she is stll eating fine and is great to be held, but she doesn't bask very long at night(ive laid in bed and watched her) will that red light be a problem being on all the time? Thanks guys for helpin the newb....

You are not out of ideas, you have very good ideas. I would leave the light on. The point is to get the temps stable at the temps they are supposed to be at. If you have a thermosat and it is not keeping that side warm, bump it up...remember the temps are not exact and you have to do a bit of expermenting to see where the temp on the thermosat has to be in order to be most effective overall. As for the cool side, keep the lamp (red) on 24/7 and see how this works.
