Well I was getting ready to feed my snake, thawing out a mouse while holding him.
Finally the mouse was thawed, I was going to put the snake in his tank and feed him but decided to offer the mouse while still in my hand.
Sure enough he took it, constricted it, and swallowed it all while in my hand, it was pretty cool
He wasn't starving either because I just finished feeding him 3 days ago.

you are very brave to let him do that in your hand. Peanut has done it crawling over into the mouse tank (half in and half out).

I know you probably got drummed in the other forums! While this might seem like a "cool" thing to do. I wouldn't encourage it, because the snake won't be small forever, and it's feeding responses will not always be the same. We love our snakes..but we do remember that they are snakes. Mine is hand tame, it comes and "kisses" me (it's actually seeking heat and trying to determine if I am edible) LOL I am glad you got off this time without injury, but I am not of the mindset that think it's cool to get tagged or to do something that puts one in danger of getting tagged..nough said?
So if you do this in the future, please keep it to yourself, or we may have a rash of injuries to young people following your lead, and angry parents down on this forum for giving a bad example.

You just had the snake in one hand, and tongs with a mouse in the other? Right? I think Deb thought that you had a mouse crawling around in your hand and just let the snake strike. But you said you used tongs right? If so I do the same thing with all of the snakes that are just terrified of the holding tanks (that’s where we feed our museum animals). I'll let them get comfortable on my left hand, then I dangle a mouse with my right (with or without tongs). They usually strike, and then I'll just let them feed from my arm. Haven’t gotten bit yet!

Yeppers, that's exactly what I did. It's safe, and a pretty cool experience at the same time.
