yeah its fun watching them explore. i more or less wanted to let him outside to get some light. now that i switched over to a tub he hardly gets any light and its important that they do. so i will probably be taking him out on a weekly basis now that our temps are hitting close to 75f and let him cruise about for 30 mins or so a week.

As long as you keep close with an eye on them, you'll have no problem catching it. They strike fast (as we all know), but I've never seen a ball python get speedy when on the move.

yeah you shouldnt have any trouble with your bp trying to get away, like buck said they strike fast but ive never noticed one moving that fast.

my corn on the other hand is lightning quick and im sure most are, i would hesitate to let a smaller snake loose while taking pics. i have done it before but its kinda hard.
