Hi all, my first post here. Lurked for a long time, just joined up tho...
Anyway, I picked up a little guy the other day, a rescue. His belly is pure white, other than the markings. I know a bit about morphs, but never ran across this. Other than that, he's perfectly normal looking. What is that called? Even going up his sides is whiter than my other normals.
I'll post a pic if needed...
thanks
jas

Hopefully I'm not bursting your bubble of excitement and hope but it appears to be a normal or "wild type" ball python. Every ball python looks different, has different markings, patterns, etc., hence no two look exactly alike. Like others, I still enjoy normal ball pythons because they're all beautiful and unique in their own right. Smile

Not bursting my bubble at all. I just never seen on as white as that before...
He is a rescue that I took in last week, just started handling him over the weekend, and really noticed how white he was...

I have a couple of morphs, so I know they don't come cheap, or by accident very often.. I enjoy all of them, love normals, always have! I'll find a good home for him soon.
thanks Ron!

They have already answered your question, I just want to say it's a healthy looking belly...no scars, browning on the edges.

Hopefully, it stays healthy. How long have you had it and where did you rescue it from? (if you don't mind telling) Smile

Don't mind at all...
I surf the Craigslists all around central Florida, about 6 different cities. My name is around for people close by, I get a call or two a month. Lot's of snakes are very bad off, I've had a couple die. I take in the free snakes, and will pay a little for others. Keep them for a while and try to find good homes for them.
I'm getting out of the whole rescue, looking to start breeding a few species, including balls.

Yeah, this little guy is in great shape, considering the circumstances I got him from. I had to give them $20 to get him out of their hands, but was glad to do it. I think they stole it and were looking for quick cash. They told me they've had him for a year and a half, and didn't want to talk at all. They couldn't wait to peel out of the there. Get this, he's about 2 years old. Um, yeah, right. He's tiny, maybe 3 months at most..
I'll tame him down, fatten him up, and find him a good home in a few months... he'll make someone a nice pet.

Laughing laughing about them trying to pass a baby off as a 2 year old. Laughing

Good luck with your endeavors. Smile
Have you had any outbreaks of IBD among your BPs, or taken in any Bps that have exhibited weird traits that later died? There have been several cases discovered in various locations and one case of a mysterious disease that is also fatal to BPs.

I have been trying to pinpoint locations where IBD has been discovered/recognized.

Never had a ball die. A couple of other species. Had a couple of them with real bad RI's. Took one to a vet, he ended up keeping him for a long time, when he called me back, he asked if he could just keep him.
