|
We've had our BP for a week now and tried feeding him last night. We were told he was a good eater and eats live (at pet store). We put him in a separate container last night and offered him a small live mouse. The mouse went right up to snake's nose and snake struck, but let go. After 10-15 minutes snake struck again (from the side) and killed the mouse, but would not eat it.
how long should we wait before we try feeding again?
Our snake is shy and we're wondering if maybe next time we should offer him his dinner in his viv?
I tried searching the forums here for an answer but had no luck finding one.

I would wait another week, maybe even two since you just got him and try not to handle him yet. Next time you try feeding him again just leave him alone even if he kills the mouse and doesn't immediately eat it. Give him a couple of minutes he might decide he wants to finally eat him.
