|
My BP went into blue a few days ago. I took him out today just to check on him and he seems to be clearing up so I hope to see a shed soon.
But when I took him out I noticed that the skin on his neck, right behind his mouth, is extremely loose on both sides. Not like skin coming off. And when he curled up it was so wrinkled.
Is this just him getting ready to shed? I put him to his waterbowl and he drank for a long time straight from my hands. Maybe he was dehydrated? I kind of worried.

I often see extremely wrinkled skin when a ball is about to shed, and there is not enough humidity in the cage. What are your humidity levels currently?

I have an Acurite thermometer and I've been misting his tank almost every day. It's reading from 68-71% I just gave him a bath right now though. He persisted on dunking his whole face in the water. I also thought I heard clicking from him, But I'm pretty sure it was just from him grabbing onto the towel with his scales. I watched his breathing and there were no clicks timed with it.
Also, he has dark spots on him belly. I think it's just an extension of his pattern, but every time I see a belly shot of a snake they're belly are nice and clear, I took some pictures...I'm a very paranoid mommy.

From those pictures his belly looks fine. You should have a nice shed as long as you keep the humidity up.

Okay
I've just been giving him bathes lately, I don't like the substrate getting really damp from misting.

By the way the belly is definitely normal. I have some with bellies that are just plain white, and others whose bellies have quite intricate dark patterns.
