Stories written by writers with little to no knowledge about how certain subjects never cease to amaze me when they write an article like this. And I quote, "They grab with their mouth to anchor the prey, then coil around the animal and crush it to death before eating it whole".
They don't "crush it to death before eating it whole" and it's unfortunate that the writer did not have someone knowledgable in the subject proof read his or her article before publishing it. This is the same type of fallacy published in a newspaper article last year for which I was interviewed to speak about ball pythons.
This is the reason why we must write our comments to stop the proposed ban of Python and Boas (see: PYTHONS AND BOAS ARE UNDER ATTACK!!!) because unfortunate as it is, these are the same uneducated people who will ultimately decide whether it's lawful for us to keep these wonderful serpents as pets.

Yea there are a lot of misconceptions on how these animals kill their prey, I am glad I was brought up watching Animal Planet and The Discovery Channel so I know they suffocate the prey and not crush. Though Burmese pythons and larger snakes like that scare me a lot, but it is a bad thing for them to be released into the wild in Florida and should be represented for what they trully are not as somthing that will crush you, I dont care if it is bad the truth is the most important thing.
