Are the mite killers that you rub on your snake sold at pet stores(zoo-med etc.) effective? My snake has mites and I just ordered some Prevent a mite online and i was wondering if the pet store mite killers work?

I agree with afwrestler, reptile relief works fine. Mites drown easily too. You can try giving your snake a bath with warm water. Let it swim for a bit

Mites drown, but their eggs do not. Giving your snake a bath provides temporary relief but does not eliminate the infestation. Use Reptile Relief for your snake, and Provent-a-Mite for its enclosure. Follow the instructions to the letter or reap the consequences.

A lot of us found something that worked (Reptile Relief and Provent A Mite), and we haven't risked anything else on our snakes.

Some others may be using something else (and will speak up), but if not...

If you try it, let us know how it works. Smile
