According to Rabbits for Dummies by Audrey Pavia:

Rabbits transmit syphillis though breeding. To keep your rabbit from contracting syphillis, inspect the genitals, lips, nose, chin, and eyelids of the rabbit with which you intend to breed your pet. Although this won't guarantee that your rabbit won't come into contact with the disease, it certainly reduces your rabbit's chances.

Affected rabbits develop crusty sores on their genitals, lips nose, chin and eyelids. If your rabbit has been bred and develops these symptoms, contact your vet right away. Antibiotic treatment is recommended and usually works quickly to clear up the problem.
( be aware that antibiotics that work on dogs and cats are fatal to rabbits)

Oh gosh this sint good when Im thinking of letting dd have her own bunny!
Maybe now I know I must get just one not two ....unless they are the same sex.
