|
I wonder if male rats can display homosexual tendencies? Last night I had to put down one of the large male rats that snapped at me (no snapping allowed, I will dispatch with a quickness).
After the deed was done, I noticed that it didn't have the hanging ballsacs like the other rats, and for a minute I was dismayed and thought I may have mixed my rats up (not possible) and that she may have been snapppish because she was pregnant.
Well, the deed was done, so I took her to feel to someone that "might" be hungry...no one was, because this morning I checked and the balls had descended. The balls not visible in life, were visible in death, any explanation?

I've heard of mice castrating each other but never rats. They could do it also but I've just never heard of it. I'll check Google on this topic as it's a good one.

I know that young rats can "suck" in their goods. Maybe after it was dead the muscles relaxed causing them to drop.

Both youse:
The rat wasn't in cold water, and yes, indeed it could be a Seinfield episode!
The rats have me endlessly fascinated. You will find me in the rat room, just observing their behavior, stealing each other's babies, someone will have at any time a whole LOT of babies and then when I think some one may be starving, they separate the babies and the biggest are tossed out of the nest to wait their turn (greedy grubs)
Also the oddity that one of my rats gave birth to, I try and see if i can catch anyone having another malformed pinky before they eat it. Some of them will take treats from my hand, and the gerbils are a riot, but the new batch isn't calming down and I think one is ill. I am feeding and hoping that its system beats the illness, otherwise, I'll have to toss her. None of my rats are ill except this one in the new batch (I think she's ill because her eyes are rimmed with red...)

If it stings, tags, nips, bites or tries to rip your face off, Harold has it.

I witnessed a male "going through the motions" on a male that he would with a female. My guess was that it had to do something with trying to dominate the male due to the presence of females in the cage. This is only a guess.

"Going though the motions" Ahh the birds and bees talk. Kids, he means he witnessed a male trying to climb another male.
Well, I have heard that Roosters can be homosexual, so why not rats?
